CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire man convicted of trying to sell a 14-year-old girl for sex has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
William Shine, of Franklin, was found guilty in September of child sex trafficking and endangering the welfare of a child. He was sentenced on Monday.
Shine’s wife is facing similar charges. She is being tried separately.
Authorities say the 34-year-old Shine tried to sell the girl to a 26-year-old man in 2014, but the buyer was an undercover police informant.
WMUR-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1lf5zt0 ) Shine addressed the court before his sentencing and blamed media reports and the jury for his conviction. The judge told Shine that the jurors’ decision was based on evidence.
