SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - A federal judge has sentenced a Savannah man to life in prison for his role in forcing minors into prostitution

Court records show a judge sentenced Jeremy Grant, 26, to life in prison for conspiracy to engage in the sex trafficking of minors.

Federal prosecutors said in a Tuesday news release that Grant recruited vulnerable minors by offering them food and shelter and then used verbal threats and physical abuse to force them into prostitution.

U.S. Attorney Edward J. Tarver said in a statement that Grant turned vulnerable minors into sex slaves.
