ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) - A woman has been hospitalized after falling near a creek in upstate New York.

The Post-Standard of Syracuse reports (https://bit.ly/1IdcIiG ) officers were sent to a parking garage in Ithaca just after 7 p.m. Monday after getting reports that a woman was trying to jump into a creek. They found her lying unconscious on a concrete ledge alongside the creek about 20 feet below the garage.

Police say she was airlifted to a trauma center.

The woman is the third person in recent days to be airlifted after falls in Ithaca. The other two falls involved college-aged men and occurred from the roof of an apartment building and from a balcony at Ithaca College.

Police did not specify the woman’s age in Monday’s incident, which is under investigation.
