CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - Authorities have identified a man killed by police when he allegedly exchanged gunfire with two officers responding to a domestic disturbance report at a southern New Jersey home.

Camden County prosecutors say 24-year-old Camden resident Freddy Baez was pronounced dead at a hospital Tuesday night, shortly after the shooting occurred.

The two officers had gone to the Rutledge Walk home around 7 p.m. after someone called 911 to report a domestic dispute. The caller also said Baez possibly was armed.

Neither officer was injured in the incident. But both have been placed on administrative leave while the shooting is investigated, which is routine procedure for police-involved shootings.

The officers’ names have not been released.
