SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - A local television viewer in Los Angeles has made a $10,000 donation to buy a new wheelchair for a 4-year-old girl who was born without legs and has been using a skateboard.

Joyce Brandman called the NBC4 assignment desk Wednesday after seeing a story about a California girl named Milagros whose specialized wheelchair was stolen outside her home.

Santa Ana police have tried to find who stole the chair from the family’s yard Sunday but have no suspects.

Police Corp. Anthony Bertagna says investigators believe someone may have stolen the chair to pawn it or melt it down for cash.

Without the wheelchair, Milagros was using a skateboard to move around.

Brandman told NBC4 (https://bit.ly/1N9esuO ) she admired the family and believes there is no better gift than helping a child.
