CAMANCHE, Iowa (AP) - An eastern Iowa teacher accused of sending suggestive messages to a teenage student has resigned.

The Clinton Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1MVmVCA ) that Brad Wickes has pleaded not guilty to a charge of sexual exploitation by a school employee. He’d been put on administrative leave after being charged on Oct. 30, and on Monday the school board approved his resignation.

A court affidavit says Wickes initiated an exchange of messages with a 17-year-old girl. The affidavit says some of the messages were sexual in nature.
