FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Police in Fayetteville have arrested a man and accused him of burning a church earlier this year.

Police told local media on Thanksgiving Day that 33-year-old Jack Randall Singleton Jr. of Fayetteville was arrested and charged with burning C.D. McNeill Memorial Church of God Sept. 23.

Police have not released a possible motive for the fire.

Police said Singleton was picked up around 8:30 a.m. Thursday and charged with burning of a church or place of worship

Fayetteville police, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s office, the State Bureau of Investigation and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms investigated the fire.

It was not clear if Singleton has an attorney.
