MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Officials with the Vermont Agency of Education and others are going to be recognizing the state’s 2015 Vermont U.S. Presidential Scholars.

The Vermont nominees will be eligible to apply for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program.

The ceremony for the students and their families is going to be held Dec. 3 at the Statehouse in Montpelier.

The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964 to recognize and honor some of the nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors.

Each year up to 161 students from across the country are named Presidential Scholars.
