BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) - Prosecutors say a Massachusetts man has been indicted on accusations he was on drugs when he collided head-on into another vehicle, injuring a pregnant woman so badly that she lost her unborn baby.
The Boston Globe reports (https://bit.ly/1KUEXTm ) Plymouth prosecutors say the 24-year-old Carver man was indicted Wednesday on charges of operating under the influence of drugs, among others.
Prosecutors say he drove a Toyota Scion into a 2005 Chevrolet Impala on the evening of Feb. 1, sending the sedan into a snowbank and trapping the woman inside. She suffered a traumatic brain injury and multiple fractures.
Police found a syringe, a spoon and a piece of paper containing “a white powdery substance.” The man later tested positive for opiates.
An arraignment date has not yet been set.
