SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Shreveport detectives are working to catch the person responsible for holding up a bank inside a Wal-Mart store.

Police say in a news release that officers were called Wednesday afternoon to the Wood Forest National bank located inside the Wal-Mart Super Center on Wesport Avenue.

Cpl. Marcus Hines says officers were told an armed assailant had just robbed the bank and fled the store in a light colored sedan, possibly a Subaru.

Hines says information gathered suggest the armed man was wearing a motorcycle helmet during the robbery.

Once at the counter, the robber allegedly demanded the teller hand over cash from the drawer. After making off with an undisclosed amount of cash, Hines says the man left the business running on foot.
