CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - The stars are aligned for the Virginia Film Festival.

Meg Ryan, director Oliver Stone and writer and activist Larry Kramer are all scheduled to attend the 28th edition of the festival, set for early November in Charlottesville.

Ryan will come to the festival with her directorial debut, a film called “Ithaca” that was shot in the Petersburg and Richmond areas.



Stone will offer a special screening of “Born on the Fourth of July.”

Jody Kielbasa is director of the festival, and he says more than 100 features, documentaries and other films will be part of the festival.

Besides Ryan, Stone and Kramer, actress Cherry Jones is also scheduled to attend.
