OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - A 17-year-old boy accused of firing a gun inside North Thurston High School in April now faces 14 charges - 12 felonies and two misdemeanors.
The Olympia reports (https://is.gd/eOnLUD ) the teen pleaded not guilty to a new set of charges in Thurston County Juvenile Court on Wednesday. He originally faced five charges.
Authorities say he fired a handgun twice inside the high school on April 27 before a teacher tackled him. No one was injured in the incident.
Earlier this month, Thurston County prosecutor Wayne Graham withdrew a motion asking that the teen be tried in adult court. Graham says he made the decision based on a psychologist’s evaluation of the teen.
He is scheduled to appear in court again next Wednesday. He is being held at a juvenile detention center.
