PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona Board of Regents has a new member.
Dr. Larry Penley has been named to fill a recent vacancy on the board.
The appointment was announced Thursday by Gov. Doug Ducey.
Penley brings four decades of experience in higher education to the regents, who oversee Arizona’s three public universities.
He served as the president of Colorado State University from 2003 to 2008 as well as the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Phoenix from 2012 to last December.
Penley also served as dean of the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University for more than 13 years.
Prior to his service at ASU, Penley was an associate professor and associate dean at the University of Texas at San Antonio for a decade.
