PAULSBORO, N.J. (AP) - Officials say ships will start docking in February at a new port under construction in southern New Jersey.

U.S. Rep. Donald Norcross said during a tour of the port’s railroad network on Thursday that ships are already planning to bring loads of steel to the Port of Paulsboro as soon as it opens.

Construction is also expected to be complete in February.

Officials say the port will bring about 2,000 jobs to Paulsboro, an industrial town across the Delaware River from Philadelphia International Airport.
