DUNKIRK, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a 23-year-old western New York man trying to elude state troopers crashed into a vacant house and died.
State police say troopers received information around 9:30 p.m. Thursday that Bryan Willis of the Chautauqua County city of Dunkirk had violated parole and was possibly armed.
Troopers spotted Willis driving a car and tried to pull him over on Lake Shore Drive in Dunkirk, a city on Lake Erie southwest of Buffalo.
Willis pulled away from troopers but lost control of his vehicle and hit a vacant home at an intersection. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers say Willis had a loaded handgun in his vehicle.
The investigation into the crash is continuing.
