SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (AP) - Police in Springfield, Oregon, arrested a 29-year-old woman accused of trying to slice her mother’s throat.
Sgt. Keith Seanor says the mother awoke Friday to find to her daughter holding a knife over her. A struggle ensued, and the mother ended up being cut on the chin.
Seanor says the daughter has a diagnosed mental illness, and the incident shows the importance of maintaining prescribed levels of medication. She was jailed on a charge of second-degree assault.
