COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Police say they have arrested a second suspect in the summer shooting death of a 19-year-old Columbus man on the city’s East Side.
Nineteen-year-old Paris R. Royal of Columbus was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. Friday.
Royal faces a murder charge in the July 11 shooting death of John A. Pope II inside an apartment on East Livingston Avenue. Royal was being held at the Franklin County jail.
Police also have charged 18-year-old Tykeim M. Mayes of Columbus with complicity in Pope’s death. Those charges were brought two days after the shooting, while Mayes was already in custody on a separate charge.
