SEATTLE (AP) - Bail has been set at $1 million for a woman accused of kicking her boyfriend’s 17-month-old son to death.
Q-13 News reports (https://goo.gl/c97Lo5 ) Alicia Goematt had bail set Friday after being booked into King County Jail for investigation of second-degree murder.
Police responded to a 911 report from the couple’s residence on Sept. 27 and found the boy dead. Detectives began an investigation after seeing blood and bruises on the child.
Police say Goematt initially denied any wrongdoing but later told them she became angry with the toddler and kicked him twice in the stomach. She told police she then put him in a playpen and a short time later discovered he wasn’t breathing.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the toddler died due to “substantial abdominal trauma.”
