GREECE, N.Y. (AP) - A suburban Rochester woman has been sentenced to up to four years in prison for a fatal hit-and-run last year.
The Democrat and Chronicle of Rochester reports (https://on.rocne.ws/1YTCRO9 ) that 21-year-old Mariah Eccleston was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in a death.
She entered the plea as part of a deal with Monroe County prosecutors. She was originally indicted on a vehicular manslaughter charge, along with the other offense.
Prosecutors say the town of Greece woman hit 20-year-old Joseph Pacheco as he was walking home on Aug. 12, 2014, and left the scene.
Eccleston apologized to the victim’s family in court.
