Hillary Clinton’s campaign on Monday proudly released a list of Texas politicians who have “endorsed” her presidential run. Only problem is two politicians on the list deny that they ever agreed to support her.

The Clinton campaign initially included San Antonio Mayor Ivy Taylor and Bexar County Commissioner Tommy Calvert in its “Hillary for Texas Leadership Council,” responsible for recruiting volunteers to help Mrs. Clinton win Texas’ March 1 primary, the Texas Tribune reported.

But Ms. Taylor’s office clarified she was not part of the council and had not endorsed Mrs. Clinton, the Tribune reported.

“As mayor, Ms. Taylor has had the opportunity to meet recently with Secretary Hillary Clinton as well as Carly Fiorina,” Taylor spokeswoman Leslie Ann Garza said in a statement. “The mayor appreciates the service of Secretary Clinton, Ms. Fiorina and all the candidates for President. However, the mayor of San Antonio is a non-partisan elected office, and Mayor Taylor is committed to remaining non-partisan in the upcoming presidential election.”

Mr. Calvert also said he specifically told three Clinton staffers that he would not endorse the former secretary of state for president.

“I don’t know how there could be any confusion,” he told the Tribune.

He later added on Facebook: “While I appreciate her service and her candidacy, I have not endorsed anyone in the presidential election.”
