LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - A convicted felon has been arrested in Las Cruces for allegedly shooting at a mobile home.
They say 38-year-old James Serafine “Champ” Sedillo is being held on $50,000 bond on suspicion of shooting at a dwelling or occupied building, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a controlled substance.
Sedillo allegedly went to the mobile home around 1 a.m. Saturday and knocked on the side of the trailer and the front door, demanded that the occupants open it.
When the occupants refused to open the door, Sedillo allegedly fired two rounds from a handgun into the mobile home.
Two people inside the home escaped injury.
Sedillo fled the scene but was later arrested. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer yet.
