HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) - Six people have pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a rash of home burglaries in northern New Jersey.
The Record reports (https://bit.ly/1GuILiX ) the five men and one woman were arraigned Monday in a Hackensack court.
The charges against the group range from theft and burglary to drug and child neglect offenses. Jamelle Singletary, Lawal Erskine and Bruce Anderson, all of Teaneck, remain jailed. Jamaal Sermon, David Tadjiev and Janay Cole are free on bail.
Prosecutors say the group was arrested after a nine-month investigation into roughly 30 break-ins in Bergen, Morris and Somerset counties.
Investigators said they worked in teams between July 22, 2014 and Nov. 6, 2014, allegedly targeting homes in affluent neighborhoods.
