GREENWOOD, Ind. (AP) - A developer is planning a $90 million outdoor shopping mall in the southern suburbs of Indianapolis similar to one it built just north of the city.
Gershman Partners announced Wednesday that it expects to start construction of the Greenwood Town Center in late 2016 near the Interstate 65 and County Line Road interchange. The Indianapolis-based company didn’t announce any tenants for the center but says it will aim to be a regional retail and entertainment center.
Gershman Partners also developed Hamilton Town Center along I-69 in Noblesville.
Greenwood officials have struggled to develop the site selected for the project, with a planned sports complex and hotel project falling apart last year.
Gershman Partners expects to open the new Greenwood center in the fall of 2017.
