TYNGSBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Police are seeking to criminally charge a 15-year-old boy they say dumped hot soup over a girl’s head in the hallway of a Massachusetts high school.
The girl’s family tells The Sun of Lowell (https://bit.ly/1RB87vJ ) the attack caused second-degree burns.
Police say paperwork was filed Monday seeking a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. A hearing will likely be scheduled for next week where a clerk magistrate will determine if charges are warranted.
The alleged attack occurred Oct. 15 at Greater Lowell Technical High School in Tyngsborough.
The 16-year-old girl says she has had conflicts with the boy before, and he thought she was talking to him as she talked with friends.
School officials would only say the boy received “appropriate discipline.”
