Man faces up to life in prison after conviction in slaying of his landlord in Central Texas
SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) - A Central Texas man faces up to life in prison after being found guilty of murder in the shooting death of his landlord.
Hays County jurors Monday found 28-year-old Louis Anthony Ramos guilty of murder in the June 2014 shooting death of 48-year-old Johnny Saxon. Ramos, who rented a trailer on Saxon’s property, was also found guilty of two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for pointing a gun and threatening the lives of Saxon’s 13-year-old daughter and his 75-year-old mother after the shooting.
Prosecutors say that earlier in the day of the shooting, Ramos had assaulted his girlfriend. After that, Saxon brought Ramos’ girlfriend and her children to his house. Ramos eventually went to Saxon’s house with a firearm, fatally shooting Saxon.
