WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - New Castle County police say a 34-year-old man has been charged with firing a gun during a dispute in the Edgemoor Gardens community.

Police say they got a call about shots being fired on Wednesday afternoon. Officers recovered a shell casing. Police say witnesses gave a description of the gunman and officers located 34-year-old Epifanio Vega, who lives near the shooting scene.

Police say Vega claimed that he was assaulted by several people on the way home from a convenience store. Police say they searched Vega’s home and found gun evidence consistent with the shell casing found at the scene.

Vega faces charges including reckless endangering and possession of a deadly weapon during a felony. He’s being held on bail.
