CHICAGO (AP) - A suburban Chicago gymnastics coach accused of sexually abusing two children with disabilities during a trip to Georgia for a competition has waived extradition from Illinois.

Forty-eight-year-old Patricia Hermann of Schaumberg is charged with three counts of sexual battery against a minor and one count of aggravated sexual battery in Cobb County, Georgia. She is being held in Cook County Jail without bond until Georgia authorities pick her up.

Authorities say Hermann was arrested Saturday by Schaumburg police. Illinois Department of Children and Family Services spokeswoman Veronica Resa said Thursday that Hermann is now under investigation by the department.

For years Hermann has coached and worked with children with disabilities as the founder and CEO of Elite Stars.

It wasn’t immediately known if Hermann has an attorney.
