LAS VEGAS (AP) - A woman is behind bars in Las Vegas after she allegedly fled the scene of a car accident, leaving two children behind.
The Nevada Highway Patrol says the incident started around noon Friday near Decatur Boulevard and Alta Drive when the woman drove off during a traffic stop.
NHP officials say she crashed into a wall a short time later, hitting a man who was washing his car.
Troopers say she fled on foot while an adult, a 2-year-old child and an infant remained in the car.
She was apprehended a short time later.
The NHP says she is the mother of one of the children. Neither child was in a car seat.
The man who was hit has since been released from a hospital.
