CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Authorities say a 25-year-old man has been has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a 23-year-old woman who died after being shot at a west Charlotte apartment last week.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police tell local media that Immanuel Felton was taken into custody voluntarily after officers located him on Saturday.
Police say officers found Alexia Mayfield suffering from an apparent gunshot wound at an apartment complex on Friday night. Mayfield was pronounced dead at the scene.
No motive has been given for the shooting.
It was not immediately clear whether Felton has an attorney to comment on the charge.
