ANNAPOLIS — Maryland democrats have nominated two people to fill vacant delegate seats.

Elizabeth Proctor, the widow of longtime state Delegate James Proctor, has been nominated to succeed her late husband in the legislature. Carlo Sanchez, the current secretary of the Prince George’s central committee, has also been nominated to fill the seat left vacant after Delegate William A. Campos stepped down.

The two received nearly unanimous votes from central committees in their respective districts, the paper reports. Proctor was the first choice of Senate President Thomas V. “Mike” Miller. Meanwhile, Mr. Sanchez faced no opposition during the Prince George’s vote Tuesday.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, a Republican, has less than 15 days to consider the appointments, both of which he is expected to approve.
