HELENA, Mont. (AP) - A Havre businessman charged in a federal corruption investigation of Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation plans to plead guilty to one of the charges he is facing.
U.S. District Judge Brian Morris set a Thursday change-of-plea hearing for Shad Huston on the charge of failure to file currency transaction reports.
Huston does not have a plea agreement with federal prosecutors, and he is still charged in four other indictments with bribery, embezzlement and theft.
Huston has pleaded not guilty to allegations he bribed tribal officials and overcharged for work his various companies did on the reservation.
The charge he will plead guilty to is not reporting financial transactions of more than $10,000.
Huston’s attorney, Anthony Gallagher, declined to comment.
