NEW YORK (AP) - Long Island Rail Road says riders should expect a regular morning rush hour schedule Thursday following the freight train derailment west of Hicksville.

The agency says crews have cleared both derailed freight cars that were blocking one of the two tracks that are shared by trains of the Ronkonkoma and Port Jefferson branches.

They said crews will be working overnight to rebuild damaged track caused by Tuesday’s derailment.

Commuters are urged to monitor the railroad’s website at www.mta.info/lirr for up to date information.
