RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) - A former Rutland dentist is seeking to have his probation terminated early after he pleaded guilty to welfare fraud and inappropriate contact with a patient.

The Rutland Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1UWprw2 ) 57-year-old Dr. Peter Gray, of Bomoseen, said in Rutland criminal court Tuesday that he has tried to “live a meaningful and good life.”

Court documents show that a woman claimed Gray kissed her on the lips removed her bra while she was sedated for a tooth extraction.

Gray agreed to plead guilty in November to felony counts of welfare fraud and a misdemeanor count of engaging in a prohibited act.

Gray has three months’ probation remaining on the misdemeanor and nearly two and a half years left on the felony counts.
