WASHINGTON (AP) - Metro says travelers using three of its six rail lines will wait longer for trains this weekend.

Metro says trains on the red, blue and yellow lines will operate every 24 minutes. The transit system says orange, silver and green line trains will operate at regular weekend intervals.

Metro says the rail system will open an hour early on Sunday, at 6 a.m., to help customers traveling to the Navy-Air Force Half Marathon. Metro says the closest stop to the start of the race is the Smithsonian station.
