CONWAY, S.C. (AP) - A New York City company that makes bikes as well as food vending trucks and carts is expanding to South Carolina, creating 50 new jobs.

Worksman Cycles said Wednesday it is investing $2.5 million in an existing facility in Conway, about 12 miles from Myrtle Beach.

Local officials say the company looked at 20 potential sites before settling on South Carolina.

The new plant is expected to be operating early next year.

The company was founded in New York City in 1898. The South Carolina plant will be its first outside of the city.
