COLUMBIA FALLS, Mont. (AP) - A fire has destroyed the main building of a furniture and flooring store in Columbia Falls in Flathead County.

The fire at Melby’s Home Interior was first reported about 5:30 a.m. Sunday.

But Assistant Fire Chief Jesse Best tells the Hungry Horse News (https://bit.ly/1MyD9mT ) that when firefighters arrived the fire was already into the attic of the structure and it spread throughout the building.

Best says the main building is a total loss but there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Melby’s is the oldest furniture and flooring store in Columbia Falls.
