ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - Two St. Petersburg police officers are recovering from injuries suffered in a crash.

Police say an officer and a sergeant were at the scene of a DUI stop around 3:35 a.m. Monday when another car crashed into their cruisers.

According to a news release, Sgt. Candace Marklin and Officer Douglas Carruthers were treated and released from a hospital.

Later Monday, police arrested 41-year-old Raymond Richardson. He’s facing charges of DUI, careless driving and possession of drug paraphernalia. He refused medical treatment.
