CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for portions of Virginia and West Virginia.

The flood watch is effective through late Wednesday morning. The weather service says 2 to 4 inches of rain are likely in portions of southwestern and westcentral Virginia and eastern West Virginia.

In Virginia, it includes the cities of Blacksburg, Danville, Lexington, Lynchburg, Roanoke, Winchester and Wytheville.



In West Virginia, the flood watch includes the counties of Berkeley, Grant, Hampshire, Hardy, Mineral, Morgan and Pendleton.
