Nampa teacher charged for having sex with student

NAMPA, Idaho (AP) - A former Nampa Spanish teacher has been accused of having sex with one of his students.

The Idaho Statesman reports (https://bit.ly/1N4IsLX ) that 28-year-old Thomas Fisher is charged with felony sexual battery of a 16- or 17-year-old girl. He was arraigned Wednesday.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Fisher told police that he had sex with the girl two or three time s a week for about a month and a half last spring.

Fischer resigned from the Nampa School District in midsummer. He had been a teacher at Skyview High School since 2012.

He is scheduled to return to Canyon County court Sept. 16.
