ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta police want to help people prepare for the Labor Day weekend with their free mobile app.

The Atlanta Police Department said in a statement Thursday that the app will feature a detailed event listing and up-to-date traffic alerts. Police say they estimate more than 25 events and 600,000 people in celebration of the holiday.

Police encourage visitors to plan ahead for traffic delays and event restrictions along with packing light.

MARTA is offering free rides for its train and buses on Monday.

Law enforcement presence is expected in the areas of the Georgia Dome, Centennial Olympic Park and Piedmont Park.

Some of the big events include the four-day Dragon Con; Chick-Fil-A’s fan three-day events; the Atlanta Black Gay Pride; and a series of NFL and college football games.
