The GOP presidential field will be split into two groups at the third debate on Oct. 28 in Colorado, CNBC announced Wednesday.

The cable news network said the candidates that have an average of 3 percent in national polls released between Sept. 17 and Oct. 21 will be invited to participate in the prime time 8 p.m. “Your Money, Your Vote: The Republican Presidential Debate.”

Planners said polls will be rounded up. So if a candidate averages 2.5 percent in national polls they will get a spot in the main event at the Coors Events Center at the University of Colorado Boulder.

The rest of the field will have the chance to participate in a 6 p.m. debate as long as they have registered at least 1 percent in a national poll.
