FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - A Central California man remains in critical condition after being shot by two Fresno police officers.

KFSN reports (https://abc30.tv/1UwXvP8 ) Friday that that man who was shot has been identified as Freddy Centeno.

Late Thursday morning, police received a 911 call from a woman who said she had been threatened by a man with a gun. When officers responded, they saw Centeno on the street.

They said they opened fire after he refused their orders to show his hands, and then reached for what appeared to be a weapon. Deputy Fresno Police Chief Pat Farmer says it was a water nozzle that looked like a gun, the newspaper reported.

Farmer said the two police officers who shot Centeno were both wearing body cameras.
