WASHINGTON (AP) — District of Columbia officials are on a push to repair more neglected alleys in the city.

Mayor Muriel Bowser will kick off the city’s second “AlleyPalooza” campaign on Friday.

The first “AlleyPalooza” was launched earlier this summer and will wrap up next week. City crews repaired 64 alleys - eight in each of the District’s eight wards.

Officials say 64 more alleys will be spruced up before Nov. 6.

The name of the program piggybacks off a popular city effort to fill potholes each spring, which is known as “Potholepalooza.”
