CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) - A 21-year-old man has been charged after police say he hit a pedestrian and dragged the man for nearly four blocks in Chattanooga.

The Chattanooga Times Free Press reports (https://bit.ly/1i0OTEC) Peter Macrellis was charged Thursday with driving under the influence, vehicular assault and several other counts.

Police say Macrellis hit 22-year-old Levi Youster on April 17, and then dragged Youster behind his car for about four blocks.

Police say Youster sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say Macrellis is also charged with aggravated reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, financial responsibility and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.

He was booked into the Hamilton County jail. His bond has not yet been set.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Macrellis has an attorney.
