AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - Another person has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of 18-year-old Demajhay Bell.
Media outlets report 20-year-old Michael Donnell Dean was arrested Thursday on charges on murder and aggravated assault. He is the 10th person charged with murder in the case.
Richmond County Sheriff Richard Roundtree has announced that all participants in the brawl will face murder charges even though only one man caused the injuries that killed Bell.
Deputies responded to the fight March 18 in a South Augusta neighborhood after reports that 30 to 50 people were fighting. Police say a group of teens and at least two mothers met on the street to fight over an ongoing dispute involving two teenage girls.
Roundtree says Bell wasn’t an active participant in the fight, but was stabbed in the neck. He died two days later.
