ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta airport officials are warning of long lines at security checkpoints as spring break travel is expected to bring large crowds through the airport this weekend.

Officials said in a statement that travelers should plan to arrive two hours early for flights within the U.S. and 2 ½ hours early for international travel.

Officials said more than 80,000 travelers a day are expected to pass through security screening locations through the upcoming weekend at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Early Friday morning, the airport’s online updates showed wait times of up to 40 minutes at all three checkpoints in the domestic terminal; and waits of less than 10 minutes in the international terminal.

Atlanta’s airport is the world’s busiest in terms of passenger numbers. It saw 101.5 million passengers in 2015.
