GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (AP) - A letter carrier has won $25,000 from the owners of a dog that bit him in Grand Island.

The Grand Island Independent reports (https://bit.ly/1RQTIjV ) that a Hall County jury awarded the damages Tuesday to Seth Gruhn, who’d sued David Hernandez and Candida Rivera.

The lawsuit says Gruhn was delivering mail Jan. 3, 2013, to the residence of Hernandez and Rivera when the dog came out the front door and bit Gruhn’s right arm. Gruhn says he tore his right rotator cuff and bicep tendon while trying to get the dog off him.
