MINOT, N.D. (AP) - The North Dakota Higher Education Challenge Fund’s grant review committee has awarded nearly $1 million to Minot State University.

The money is a matching grant to a $2 million gift from alumnus Clint Severson and Conni Ahart that was announced earlier this year. It’s the largest gift in MSU history.

Severson is CEO of Abaxis, a California-based medical devices company. He previously donated $1 million to Minot State’s College of Business to help create the Severson Entrepreneurship Academy.

Officials say the new money will ensure guaranteed ongoing support for students in entrepreneurship training.
