LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln have scheduled training to certify people as master naturalists.
The Nebraska Master Naturalist Program is an adult education program. Participants will learn about Nebraska’s flora and fauna, native ecosystems and much more. After training and certification, people will have volunteer opportunities to contribute to conservation.
The training schedule is: Thursday through Saturday, Ponca State Park, $150 fee; May 19-21 at Halsey 4-H camp, $200 fee includes lodging and meals; June 5-11 at Niobrara Valley Preserve, Valentine, $300 fee includes lodging and meals; July 7-9, Panhandle Research and Extension Center, Scottsbluff, $150 fee; Sept. 30-Oct. 1 and Oct. 7-8 at Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium near Gretna, $150 fee.
