PHOENIX (AP) - A Phoenix man has been arrested after driving his repossessed car off a tow truck and injuring one of his granddaughters.
Phoenix police say 44-year-old Patrick MacGillivray was booked into jail Thursday on suspicion of aggravated assault, endangerment and criminal damage.
He didn’t have an attorney at his initial court appearance Friday.
Police say MacGillivray was leaving a supermarket with his two grandchildren when he saw his car being repossessed.
MacGillivray got into the vehicle that was still attached to the tow truck and drove off it.
The car disconnected from the tow strap and his 3-year-old granddaughter was knocked to the ground, injuring her arm.
Police say MacGillivray drove away from the scene with the injured girl and his 5-year-old granddaughter but was tracked down by a GPS device.
